Your privacy
As an “exclusive” multi-utility company, Water and Energy Bonaire NV (WEB) is responsible for an affordable, reliable and sustainable supply of drinking water and electricity on Bonaire. Since March 2013 WEB has expanded its’ services for collection and treatment of wastewater and its’ management of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (KAWZI).

Due to the nature of the service WEB needs some information from you. We believe it is important to ensure that our service is simple, personal and reliable. Therefore, within WEB there is a continuous process to improve our service and to match your personal needs as much as possible.

We also attach great importance to protecting the personal information you provide to us. WEB treats your personal information carefully and ensures that any processing of your data complies with applicable laws and regulations based on the Data Protection Act BES. When processing data, we respect your privacy, by complying with the rules and regulations contained in the Data Protection Act BES or arising therefrom.

This privacy statement applies to all customers and all users of WEB services.

Why is information being processed?
As part of the service, or if you have any other way to contact WEB, we record data, such as name and address (name and address) data and consumption data for electricity and water. In addition, WEB asks you to hand over copies of official documents. WEB uses this information for the execution of the agreement and its services.

For what purpose does WEB use your information?
WEB uses your information for all service charges as well as to deliver our services, such as accepting your application, risk research, managing your account (s), and the performance of the contract.

Does WEB give information to third parties?
Only data from a data set is provided to (legal) persons whose work is to receive that information. Within WEB, only officers who are qualified by virtue of their function, have direct access to the data collection. WEB increases with respect to the data sets secrecy observed. WEB does not provide any
personal information to third parties other than pursuant to legal obligations, performance of the contract or explicit consent of the customer.

How is my information protected?
We keep your personal information on servers in a secure environment, which provides protection against unauthorized access, disclosure and use of data by unauthorized persons inside and outside the WEB organization. This guarantees that your information is only available to persons who by virtue of their function, and that the data be used only for the purposes for which they were obtained, and hence
compatible purposes.

How long will my data be stored?
WEB keeps your data longer than permitted by law and is necessary for the purpose of processing data. The length of time that certain information must be stored depends on the nature of the data and the purposes for which they are processed. The retention may therefore differ by data.

Personal information
As a customer you are entitled to access your personal information. This means that you can retrieve the personal data you have given and for what purpose the data is used. A request for access may be submitted in writing.

Modification of these provisions
We reserve the right to amend these provisions at any time. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy statement so that you will be informed of any changes.
