Kralendijk, November 20, 2025 – The utility companies of the BES islands (Bonaire, St. Eustatius, and Saba) and the CAS islands (Curaçao, Aruba, and St. Maarten) are coming together for a special and significant meeting. This gathering marks the official launch of a new annual event in which the utilities will discuss current developments, shared challenges, and strategic opportunities.
This first edition is organized by Water- en Energiebedrijf Bonaire (WEB), which is hosting all participating companies on Bonaire. This new initiative highlights the importance of collaboration among the islands in key areas such as energy, water, sustainability, and innovation.
The objective of this meeting between the utility companies is to establish joint agreements that may lead to a formal covenant. The covenant is intended to strengthen structural cooperation, promote knowledge sharing, and stimulate collective progress within the utility sector in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
With this annual event, the participating utilities take an important step toward developing a stronger regional network—one that is more resilient, better equipped to face challenges, and better prepared for the future.
