Rates for the second half of 2025

Kralendijk, June 26, 2025 – The variable electricity rates will be increased by USD 0.0084 per kWh as of July 1, 2025. This is due to a slight increase in fuel costs for electricity production.

Variable electricity usage rate
The fuel costs incurred by Contour Global Bonaire (CGB) for the production of electricity are passed directly to the customers of Water- en Energiebedrijf Bonaire N.V. (WEB) without any markup. The purchase price for this fuel has increased slightly compared to the rate on January 1, 2025.

To protect consumers, these rates are set by the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) under the Electricity and Drinking Water Act BES. Cost developments can lead to an adjustment of the variable electricity usage rate twice a year by the ACM, specifically on January 1 and July 1. The ACM has developed a model for these adjustments, and the result — an increase of USD 0.0084 per kWh effective July 1, 2025 — was determined on June 19, 2025.

Based on this, the new variable electricity rates effective July 1, 2025, are as follows:

  • Variable usage rate (post-paid)     : USD 0.3220 per kWh
  • Pagabon rate (pre-paid)                   : USD 0.5172 per kWh

The change in the variable usage rate will be visible on invoices starting with consumption periods beginning in July 2025. For pre-paid users (Pagabon), the adjusted rate will be visible immediately from July 1, 2025.
