Kralendijk, May 12th, 2022 – Water -en EnergieBedrijf Bonaire (WEB) as Supervisor of the 10th EDF would like to inform you about the construction and repair work for the expansion of the sewerage system in Belnem. Work on this 10th EDF project is in the final phase.
The new vacuum station in Kaya Saturnus has now been put into operation. The sewer system has been expanded to such an extent that a number of larger hotels have recently been connected. Around Resort Bonaire, Delfins and Light House Beach Resort is there no longer any nuisance from stench, spilled waste water and vacuum trucks arriving and departing.
While all proper and reasonable measures have been taken, the repairs are not on track. Due to unforeseen circumstances at the supplier, it was not possible for the contractor to repair the broken roads and streets and bring them back to their original state. This has the full attention of the projectteam.
The expansion of the sewage system is an important step in OLB’s ambitions for the environment, public health and the well-being of the people on Bonaire.
